Luna vs Baby Tracker - Newborn Log (Nighp)

Last checked: 23 October 2026. Facts about Baby Tracker - Newborn Log by Nighp Software come from its UK App Store listing, Google Play listing and the Baby Tracker FAQ. We make Luna, so we've kept to facts you can check.

The short answer

Both are free for everyday tracking. Nighp's Baby Tracker is a full-featured native app with health records, growth charts, widgets and an Apple Watch app, paid for by ads unless you buy Remove Ads or Plus. Luna is a lighter web app with no ads, built for two or more people writing to one family log, each with their own login. If you want the most things to track on one phone, Baby Tracker does more. If you want the simplest shared log for a couple or a wider care team, look at Luna.

Where Baby Tracker is stronger

  • Health records. Medications, vaccinations and temperature have their own logs, and growth is compared against WHO growth standards.
  • Reports to share. You can export a PDF and email or print it for a health visitor or GP appointment.
  • iPhone extras. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Live Activities, Siri Shortcuts and an Apple Watch app.
  • Private timing cues. Plus's What's Next cues are generated on your device, and Nighp says your logs aren't sent to it to create them.
  • A one-off option. If ads are the only thing that bothers you, Remove Ads is a single £4.99 purchase on the UK App Store.

Where Luna is different

  • A login for each person. Baby Tracker devices join one sync group with a shared email address and password. In Luna, each caregiver accepts an invite and signs in as themselves, with no shared password to pass around.
  • No ads at all. Luna has no ads or advertising trackers, on the free plan or on Plus.
  • Any screen. Luna runs in Safari or Chrome, so you can check last night's feeds on a laptop as well as a phone.
  • Built for the handover. The home screen shows the last feed, last nappy and how long your baby has slept, so whoever takes over knows where things stand.
  • Ask questions of your own log. Luna Plus answers questions from the feeds, sleep and nappies your family logged. It doesn't give medical advice.
  • Assistant connector. Claude, ChatGPT, Meta Muse or another MCP-compatible assistant can log and check status for you for free. See the connector.

Which should you pick?

If one parent does most of the logging on an iPhone and wants charts, health records and a watch button, Baby Tracker covers more ground. If several people share the night shift on different phones, or you'd rather have no ads and nothing to install, Luna is built for that. You can try both: start a free Luna log and invite your partner in a couple of minutes.
