The hardest part of baby logging is rarely the button. It is the handover: mum to dad, parent to grandparent, home to nursery pickup, nanny at 6pm. Luna is built as a shared baby tracker: one baby profile, separate logins, invite links for the people who help.
How sharing works (live product)
- Create the family at /onboard.
- Generate an invite link from the app (connector tool
create_caregiver_invitedescribes a time-limited link for a partner, grandparent or nanny; see TTL note in FAQ). - Invitees create their own login and join the same baby log.
- Everyone sees feeds, sleep, nappies, solids, allergens and notes on one timeline.
- Admins retain export and deletion controls documented in Privacy and the API.
No more screenshot threads for “when was the last feed?”
How to set up a calm handover
- One parent creates the family log.
- Log a normal morning so the timeline has shape.
- Invite the second parent the same day if you can.
- Later, invite a grandparent, babysitter or nanny only when you want them writing to the log.
- Optional: connect an assistant with a scoped token for voice-style logging, still your consent, still revocable (/connector).
Audience intents absorbed on this pillar
Instead of separate doorway pages, this guide covers the people who asked for:
- Two parents / couples / co-parents: equal access, separate logins.
- Dads and mums: same tracker; whoever is on shift logs.
- Caregivers, babysitters, nanny, childminders: invite when trusted; revoke when the arrangement ends (invite revoke exists in the API).
- Daycare / nursery handovers: use the shared timeline for pickup notes; Luna is a family log, not a nursery management system.
- Grandparents: join for weekends or regular care days.
- Partner baby log handoff / handover tracker / family baby tracker: the core job to be done.
If a workplace carer should not have ongoing access, simply do not invite them, or revoke access when appropriate.
Separate logins, one baby
Shared tracking fails when couples reuse a single password or text photos of a tracker screen. Luna’s model, stated across the homepage and onboarding, is separate logins on one baby profile. That preserves accountability (“who logged the feed?”) and avoids blocking someone out when the other person changes a password.
Invites are how trust enters the system. Invite links are time-limited at creation: if someone does not accept in time, create another. Only invite people who should write to your child’s routine log.
Scenarios this pillar is written for
Two-parent households swapping daytime and night shifts. Couples and co-parents across two homes who still need a single timeline. Dads who want equal tooling, not a secondary “helper” mode. Mums coordinating care while recovering or returning to work. Grandparents covering a weekday. Nannies, babysitters and childminders during paid care hours. Nursery or daycare pickups where parents want a home-side record of the afternoon (Luna is not the nursery’s official system).
In every case the mechanics are the same: invite, accept, log, read back.
Privacy mindset for sharing
Invite narrowly. Revoke when a care arrangement ends. Do not put medical advice from third parties into the log as if Luna verified it. Export if you need a copy for your own records; deletion is available to admins as documented on the privacy/terms surfaces.
Want calm answers from your own log?
Free Luna already keeps the shared tracker and the assistant connector. Luna Plus (£3.99/mo) adds Ask Luna: answers and summaries grounded in what your family has actually logged, in the app or through a connected assistant such as Meta Muse or Claude.
When the whole family logs consistently, Plus answers get better because they are grounded in a fuller shared history, still optional, still not clinical advice.
Safety boundary
Luna is for organising baby logs and routine summaries. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, assess allergies, set doses, or replace a qualified health professional or emergency services. For symptoms, medication, allergy or treatment decisions, use a qualified health professional or urgent care route. Read our Safety page for the full boundary.
